Nokia and Microsoft automate telecom networks with AI agents

Telecom engineers pairing Nokia Data Suite with Microsoft Fabric can deploy agentic network automation across infrastructure in minutes.

The partnership expansion delivers a unified data foundation for telecom providers. It unites structured network telemetry with cloud-scale analytics, establishing a shared operational environment for software agents across the network stack. Operators gain direct access to domain data through prebuilt connectors and bypass multi-week manual ingestion projects.

Coupling Nokia data products with Microsoft’s OneLake

The architecture links Nokia’s modular data products directly into Microsoft Fabric’s OneLake storage environment. Nokia packages these feeds with glass-box data quality verification and telco-specific semantic modelling. This design delivers transparent, explainable inputs for downstream machine reasoning. Carriers integrate these telecom pipelines with enterprise IT and third-party records on-demand.

Data preparation in carrier operations routinely stalls for weeks under conventional ingestion pipelines. The combined stack circumvents those delays by staging query-ready assets directly for Fabric tools, including Foundry, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Telecoms run closed-loop routines and automated root-cause analysis across live multi-vendor footprints. The software deploys across hybrid topology, private cloud, and on-premises environments, so regional operating units can satisfy strict data sovereignty rules.

These routines spot operational anomalies instantly, trace underlying causes, and dispatch remedial commands.

Field teams deploy targeted models for radio access network (RAN) diagnostics. The system’s ‘Geo-experience’ engine correlates subscriber sessions with physical radio frequency measurements and geographic coordinates.

Network teams isolate degraded mobile performance and target cell coverage deficits. The software evaluates performance trends for standard 4G and 5G connections alongside dedicated network slices, then generates concrete remedial steps for local engineers.

Predictive maintenance agents track historical and live operational data simultaneously to resolve hardware faults before services degrade. Throughout these operational routines, AI-driven assistants serve as copilots for engineering personnel.

Network teams delegate repetitive cross-domain execution to automated agents while enforcing explicit policy constraints and manual operational approvals. With the joint solution available immediately for commercial rollout, operators can shift these human-in-the-loop workflows into live production.
