Mint Mobile has announced the inclusion of free roaming services for all its customers visiting the Great White North. This new feature – which includes unlimited talk, text, and 3GB of high-speed data per month – is now available on all Mint Mobile plans.
The announcement comes as part of Mint Mobile’s ongoing efforts to enhance customer experience following its acquisition by T-Mobile.
Mint Mobile’s latest benefit adds to the company’s existing perks – such as free calling to Mexico, Canada, and the UK – as well as access to T-Mobile’s extensive 5G network.
Aron North, Chief Marketing Officer at Mint Mobile, said: “Since joining forces with T-Mobile, we’ve been hard at work building an even better experience for Mint customers everywhere, and today, we’re pumped to bring free roaming in Canada to everyone on every plan.
“Now, any Mint customer travelling to Canada this summer and beyond can call, text, and browse just like they’re at home.”
This development is part of the “magenta goodness” promised when T-Mobile completed its acquisition of Ka’ena Corporation, which brought Mint Mobile and Ultra Mobile under the Un-carrier umbrella.
Another recent post-acquisition improvement was the introduction of ‘Scam Screener’ for Mint and Ultra customers, which flags potentially fraudulent calls.
The process for utilising the new Canadian roaming feature is straightforward. Customers need only cross the border into Canada to receive an SMS notification confirming their coverage. There are no activation fees or overage charges to worry about, as the roaming service is included in all plans.
Mint Mobile’s plans, which start at just $15 a month, come without long-term contracts or hidden fees. Customers have the flexibility to cancel their service at any time. The company’s commitment to transparency and customer-friendly policies continues to set it apart in the competitive mobile service provider landscape.
For existing Mint Mobile customers, the free Canada roaming feature will be automatically added to their plans this month, coinciding with their monthly data reset day.
With this new benefit, Mint Mobile says its customers can now enjoy their Canadian adventures – from hiking in Banff to savouring poutine in Montréal – without the worry of excessive phone bills. This development not only enhances the value proposition of Mint Mobile’s services but also reflects the company’s commitment to improving customer experience in tangible, cost-saving ways.
This move by Mint Mobile addresses a common pain point for international travellers: high roaming charges. By eliminating these fees for Canadian travel, the company is positioning itself as an attractive option for frequent cross-border travellers, business professionals, and tourists alike.
