Aduna, a venture established by leading telecom operators and Ericsson, is partnering with Sinch to accelerate the global implementation and accessibility of network APIs.
Aduna debuted in September 2024 with the mission of simplifying global access to network APIs. Its vision is to enable new applications that function seamlessly across any network, driving faster innovation for developers. Working with key platform partners like Google Cloud, Vonage, and now Sinch, Aduna is strengthening the ecosystem for network API innovation, broadening the reach and utility of network services.
Sinch’s expertise in cloud communications will complement Aduna’s mission. Sinch offers network APIs that allow businesses to embed communication functionalities such as voice, video, and verification services into applications, websites, and systems. Its inclusion in Aduna’s initiative promises to unlock fresh opportunities for developers and enterprises worldwide.
Through this new partnership, Sinch will focus on expanding the coverage of its Number Verify service via its omnichannel Verification API. Additionally, it plans to roll out the SIM Swap API, aiming to strengthen “trust and safety” for customers and their users while mitigating risks like SIM swap fraud.
Sean O’Neal, Chief Product Officer at Sinch, commented: “Our partnership with Aduna marks a significant advancement in the development and adoption of network APIs. By working together, we will empower enterprises to enhance security and streamline critical services such as two-factor authentication.
“As the demand for secure, scalable digital infrastructure continues to grow, this collaboration enables operators to deliver advanced network capabilities that support seamless, secure, and innovative digital customer communications across industries.”
The stakes are high as demand for secure, innovative digital infrastructure rises. By aligning their capabilities, Aduna and Sinch aim to close the gap between what mobile networks can offer and what developers and enterprises need to pave the way for the next generation of digital innovation.
Anthony Bartolo, CEO of Aduna, said: “The collaboration with Sinch as a partner will be a crucial step for the success of Aduna. We are removing significant barriers for developers who are eager to harness the full potential of mobile networks.
“The planned integration of Sinch’s expertise and reach will enable developers across leading platforms to access advanced network capabilities globally via common APIs. Aduna’s mission is to accelerate digital transformation across businesses and society, and we are excited to partner with Sinch as we expand the network API ecosystem.”
With Sinch now on board, Aduna is better positioned to fulfil its promise of creating a cohesive global framework for network API access. The collaboration enables developers to harness advanced mobile network capabilities without running into the traditional bottlenecks of compatibility and fragmentation.
